Royal Enfield has been working on upgrading its motorcycle lineup. A fleet of the bikemaker’s new test mules was spotted testing in Chennai along with a couple of 650cc twins, the upcoming all-new Meteor and Roadster. Among the pack, was the all-new upcoming Classic 350. While test mules of the new Classic 350 have been spotted before, this one had a blacked-out motor and exhaust leading us to believe that it could be a new colour variant of the upcoming motorcycle. The new Classic 350 gets Royal Enfield’s new J-platform consisting of a new double-cradle frame and an all-new motor. It could eventually replace the current UCE-engined Classic 350 BS6. Royal Enfield may keep the BS6-compliant UCE motor alive and kicking in its Bullet 350 range.

The other motorcycle that was spotted was the upcoming Meteor 350. It gets a new J-platform and is expected to replace the now-discontinued Thunderbird 350. According to a leaked brochure, the upcoming Meteor will come in three variants: Fireball, Stellar and Supernova. Check out more details here.

Also making its presence felt briefly was the Roadster. Previous spy pics indicate the upcoming Roadster could replace the discontinued Thunderbird 350X. Compared to the other classic designed cruisers here, the Roadster gets a sporty riding position, spoke wheels, and an upswept exhaust.

Now Royal Enfield has trademarked the names Hunter and Sherpa as well. The bikemaker can use any of these names for its upcoming motorcycles but we feel it would reserve the Sherpa for a more adventurous motorcycle, possibly a higher capacity Himalayan

Royal Enfield could showcase its new lineup comprising the Meteor, Sherpa and Hunter later this year. The new bikes are likely to be launched in India by early-2021.
