Audi has released yet another design sketch of the upcoming Q8 ahead of its official reveal next month. As its name suggests, the Q8 will sit above the Q7. The latest sketch shows the front end of the flagship Audi, and now we now know that it will wear the same face as the Q8 Concept that was unveiled last year. The concept’s characteristic Audi grille, sharp LED headlamps, massive air intakes and the aggressive bumper will make it to the production-spec SUV.
The Q8 has been spotted testing around the world for some time now. In fact, reports suggest that it has even been spotted in India, albeit with heavy camouflage. Unlike the Q7, the Q8 will only be capable of seating five due to its sloping roofline. However, this very feature is expected to make it look far more appealing than the Q7. But will it be a true-blue SUV? Well, Audi will definitely equip it with its trademark quattro all-wheel drive system, so expect it to perform fairly decently on the rough stuff.
Based on the MLB-Evo platform, it is expected to share powertrains with other SUVs like the VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne, Lamborghini Urus and the Bentley Bentayga. There’s a hybrid version in the pipeline too. And a sporty RS Q8 as well. Excited? We bet you are!
The Q8 will be the largest coupe SUV from Audi and will compete against the likes of the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. Expect Audi to launch the SUV in India soon after its international launch later this year.
