European car-maker Volkswagen India today said it has sold 7,000 cars in April 2011, including 6,621 units of Polo and Vento. The all-new Passat that went on sale from April 8 this year, met tremendous response from customers with more than 190 units have already been sold in less than a month, the highest number clocked in by the model till date, the company said in a statement.
"We are extremely happy with the initial response to our recently launched Passat with BlueMotion Technologies and are looking forward for continued success," Volkswagen Group Sales India Board Director (Passenger Cars) Neeraj Garg said.
"The Polo and Vento sales have been consistently good, a lot of which we owe to the increasing brand awareness, especially with our association with the ongoing Indian Premiere League ," he said.
