Volvo has commenced production of its S60 and V60 Polestar models at its Torslanda manufacturing facility in Goteborg, Sweden. The company has already built the first Volvo S60 and Volvo V60 Polestar cars, which are on the way to be delivered to its customers.
Just 750 examples of the V60 Polestar and its sedan counterpart, the S60 Polestar, will be produced this year. The first batch is headed to showrooms in Canada, the Netherlands, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the US.
The new Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar are powered by a 345PS 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine which sends power to all four wheels. The models also feature a tuned chassis with high performance dampers and brakes.
Operating since 1964, Volvo’s Torslanda plant celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Starting off with the Volvo Amazon, the plant has since produced more than 68 lakh cars in total.
