The Swedish car maker’s ambitious crossover model will be available to buyers here in India in both petrol and diesel guise after its official launch in the third week of June this year
Volvo’s entry into a newer and a rather youth focused segment will make its mark with the launch of its latest Cross Country model in June this year. It’s confirmed that the dynamic looking semi-off-road luxury hatch will sell in both the petrol and diesel versions.
Volvo will bring two motors to India for the V40 Cross Country, T4 petrol model with a 1.6-litre GTDi engine producing 182.5 PS and maximum torque of 270 Nm, and the 152 PS 2.0-litre D3. Both petrol and diesel engine versions have start/stop and braking energy regeneration, no matter whether they are fitted with a manual or automatic gearbox.
Besides renowned safety equipment like City Safety auto-braking technology, the Cross Country will also be fitted with the V40's world-first pedestrian airbag technology and is also the only car in its class to be available with Pedestrian Detection technology.
Pitted against the Mercedes B-Class and the BMW X1 we expect the new Volvo V40 Cross Country to be priced around the 23-25 lakh price range for its base variants. Stay tuned for more updates at the time of launch.
