In a bizarre incident, a Kia Seltos fell down from the first floor of a Kia showroom in Panvel, Maharashtra. Wait, what? Fell down? Yes, the Seltos seen here was driven out of the first floor and landed nose down on its face, damaging another Seltos that was parked below! While the scene may seem straight out of an action movie, it is unclear as to how the incident occurred, or if anyone was injured.
The Kia Seltos seen here is the HTK Plus variant finished in Steel Silver shade. Sources suggest that the model is the automatic variant and an inexperienced showroom worker must have been behind the wheel.
Looking at the pictures, we must admit that the Seltos did take its unexpected fall quite well. Only the fascia and roof of the silver Seltos received a beating while the rest of the body appears to be stable, which is impressive. The impact had also activated the driver airbag and we hope the occupant was wearing the seatbelt and came out unscathed.

Strangely, a similar incident had happened at a Hyundai showroom with an Elite i20 earlier this year. Reportedly, the i20 involved in that incident was an automatic variant. Usually, most showroom cars have their batteries disconnected to ensure that you can’t start the car.

One thing that’s certainly not taken a nosedive for Kia is the Seltos’ sales numbers in India. It has racked up more than 50,000 bookings and has sold 14,005 units in November alone! The Seltos is currently priced from Rs 9.69 lakh to Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom India). Its rivals include the Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500.
