Just last month, Yamaha unveiled its 60th Anniversary livery for the YZF-R125, YZF-R3, R7, and YZF R1 to celebrate its long and illustrious Grand Prix pedigree. And now, the same treatment has trickled down to its scooter range, starting with the sporty Aerox 155, which has been launched in Indonesia.
The colour scheme isn’t any different from Yamaha’s supersport range. The Aerox 155 features the same matte gold rims and red stripes running across the side body panels with Speed Block graphics for the old-school appeal. Finishing touches include a badge mentioning the anniversary.
The rest of the scooter is pretty much the same. You have the same 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled 4-valve engine, which makes 15PS and 13.9Nm in this guise.
The same goes for the feature list. You get a 5.8-inch LCD instrument console complete with smartphone connectivity, a multi-function key slot, an external fuel lid, a USB charging port in the front glove box, an idle-start/stop system, and a smart motor generator that ensures silent starts.
Yamaha expects customers to pay Rp. 29,900,000 (approx Rs 1.56 lakh on-road) for the special-edition model. That’s just a smidge over the price of the scooter here in India.
