Yamaha has announced a price hike yet again. Thankfully, it’s limited to just two bikes: the YZF-R15 V3 and MT-15. We believe the price revision will lower the gap between the current model and the upcoming updated variant which will benefit from smartphone connectivity. Mentioned below is the complete price list, effective July 1.

The R15 receives a nominal hike of Rs 2,500, bringing its starting price to Rs 1.54 lakh. The hike for the MT, on the other hand, is a big surprise. Yamaha expects you to fork out an additional Rs 5,000 over the previous asking price, which is a bit of a stretch. Although the significant increase in cost could have been implemented to narrow the gap between the single-channel and upcoming dual-channel ABS variant. None of the other models have been affected by the price revision.
Meanwhile, Yamaha recently held a launch event where it took the wraps off the neo-retro FZ-X -- a bike based on the FZS-FI. While the underlying hardware is essentially the same, it differentiates itself with its peculiar design language and bold colour schemes. It also benefits from a Bluetooth-enabled console. Read more about it here.
Alongside the FZ-X launch, Yamaha also unveiled the Fascino and Ray-ZR 125, both of which have been comprehensively updated for 2021. Updates range from a host of new features and a hybrid engine to new colour options. Click here for more details. So expect Yamaha to increase prices of its scooter range pretty soon.
