16 images that explain all the updates on the Fascino 125-Fi

Earlier this year, Yamaha announced it would shift its focus to larger, more performance-oriented bikes and scooters. Looks like it’s following through on its promise and the first step in this direction comes with the new 125cc BS6-compliant Fascino. It’s sleeker, more powerful and gets better features compared to the BS4 model. To get into the nitty gritty of the changes, we’ve compiled several images that will help you understand the scooter better.

The biggest change comes with the new BS6-compliant 125cc engine, which features fuel-injection. The new bigger motor produces 8.2PS and 9.7Nm of torque. Yamaha claims the new motor makes 30 per cent more power than its predecessor -- 1PS and 1.6Nm more while being 16 per cent more fuel-efficient. What's more? the scooter offers a claimed fuel-efficiency of 58kmpl.

The seat is now a bit longer and flatter than before and comes with a dual-tone texture (only DLX variant). The side panels receive minor tweaks as well and come furnished with chrome highlights.

The same goes for the front apron, where the turn indicators are highlighted by ‘chrome ornaments’.

The headlight has been redesigned and now comes with a concave lens.

The tail light has also been restyled and now resembles a ‘V’.

The handlebar has been pulled closer to the rider by 18mm and sits 20mm higher for better ergonomics.

The grab handle has also been redesigned to go with the styling updates of the scooter.

Unfortunately, the instrument console is the same analogue unit seen on the previous-gen model. We were hoping to see at least a semi-digital unit if not a completely digital one.

The cubby hole on the front apron and the choke knob have been removed for a cleaner look. Instead, you get a multifunctional key fob with a seat opener and a nifty luggage hook.

The underseat storage remains unchanged at 21 litres. That said, a USB charging socket doesn’t seem to be offered even as an option here.

It weighs a mere 99kg thanks to a new frame that’s 4kg lighter than the BS4 model. This makes it the lightest scooter in its segment.

Other notable changes come in the form of a larger 12-inch wheel with a disc brake, which is part of the standard fitment. Yamaha also offers a combined braking system on the Fascino 125-Fi.

The Fascino 125-Fi is available in seven new colours: suave, dark matte blue, yellow, red, black, cyan blue and matte blue.

The standard drum and disc variant of the Fascino 125-Fi is priced at Rs 66,430 and Rs 68,930 respectively. The Deluxe version, on the other hand, retails at Rs 67,430 and Rs 69,930 for the drum and disc versions.
