The new Fazers will be available in three new colours – Red Dawn, Black Hawk and White Cloud.
The same fuel-injected, single cylinder, air-cooled 149cc engine that is doing service on the FZ FI and FZ-S FI Version 2.0 models powers the Fazer FI Version 2.0 as well. The new engine, developed with what Yamaha calls Blue Core technology, displaces less than the earlier 153cc engine powering the last generation FZ and Fazers.
Yamaha says the new fuel injected engine offers both performance and efficiency – with a class-leading acceleration with 14 per cent improvement in fuel economy, lightest weight in its class and changes to the chassis for a light and agile ride.
Like its carburetted version, the Fazer FI Version 2.0 also gets its DNA from the global sports touring Fazer series. And it is this touring DNA which Yamaha Motor India wants to capitalize on with the Fazer FI Version 2.0 as well.
“With the development of modern highways and increasing popularity of motorcycle tourism, the interest in motorcycles suited for touring is certainly expected to increase. Acknowledging these dynamics, we have introduced our new offering Fazer FI Version 2.0 particularly keeping the spirit of touring in mind, combining both fun and economy for the customers to ride free in the open blue sky,” said Roy Kurian, Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd.
The new Fazer FI Version 2.0 – like the FZ FI V2.0 and FZ-S FI V2.0 – will be available together with the last generation carburetted FZ and Fazer series across Yamaha dealerships.
