If you are planning to buy a Yamaha motorcycle, you’ll dig just a bit deeper into your pockets as the company has increased the price of the R15 V3.0, FZ25 and the Fazer 25. But worry not, because the motorcycles have received a price hike of just Rs 600.
Yamaha’s 155cc supersport, the R15 V3.0, now retails at Rs 1.4 lakh, whereas the Darknight edition is now priced at Rs 1.42 lakh. Even with this marginal price bump, the R15 V3.0 is still Rs 7,000 more affordable than its rival, the KTM RC 125, which retails at Rs 1.47 lakh. Interestingly, the R15 V3.0’s naked cousin, the MT-15, is not affected by this price hike and continues to retail at Rs 1.36 lakh.
Apart from the R15 V3.0, other motorcycles which have received a price hike are the FZ-FI, FZS-FI, FZ25 and the Fazer 25. While the baby FZs are now priced at Rs 96,180 and Rs 98,180, the FZ25 and the Fazer 25 now retails at Rs 1.34 lakh and Rs 1.44 lakh respectively.
In other news, Yamaha has discontinued the YZF-R15S and the Fazer 150 motorcycles in the Indian market. Both the motorcycles were not updated with ABS after the new safety norms kicked in from 1 April 2019. More on that here.
