The new R15 V4 gets an all-new YZF-R7-inspired design
[Update: Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 4.0 And R15M Launched In India At Rs 1.68 Lakh]

Yamaha is all set to up its ante with the fourth iteration of the YZF-R15, likely to be called the R15 V4. It launches tomorrow and could come in two variants: standard and M, the latter being confirmed in a recent teaser.

The variants and some other important details were recently revealed in leaked RTO documents. These included the engine capacity, power output, wheelbase, length, width, and height. We believe the R15M could be a more premium and track-focused variant meant for more serious riders.

But the highlight of the new R15 will be its styling. Leaked in a set of clear images at a dealership yard, the R15 V4 will bear an all-new design language inspired by the bigger YZF-R7. You’ll get a new sharper fascia with sleek LED DRLs and a single projector headlamp between them. Along with this, the fairings and tail section also have been tweaked. You can read in detail about these in our story.

Another key update comes to the suspension setup. The 2021 Yamaha R15 will finally get a USD fork, finished in a gleaming golden colour. It not only looks premium but should also become its USP going forward.

Considering all of this, the R15 V4 could come at a premium of Rs 6,000-7,000 over the current-gen model. At this price, it will still undercut its primary rival, the KTM RC 200, by a significant margin.
