India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd has released its sales figure for February, 2016 and it has been a fabulous month for the Japanese two-wheeler giant. Yamaha India sold 56,960 units in February 2016 as against 37,982 units sold in February last year in the domestic market. This has resulted in Yamaha registering a growth of astounding 50 per cent in the domestic market. According to Yamaha, the rise in sales figures can be attributed to the fact that it has been increasing focus on expanding in tier II & III cities.
Speaking about the sales figures, Roy Kurian, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said, “This consecutive growth of 50% in February too, is a result of Yamaha’s innovative customer contact programs and increasing reach. It's fuelled by Yamaha’s passion in sales and after sales activities towards its customers, to give them an unforgettable experience of the brand. Yamaha is very grateful to its customers for having faith in the brand. During the Auto Expo 2016, Yamaha was overwhelmed to see the customer’s response at the Yamaha pavilion, specially their reactions on the recently unveiled scooter Ray Z-R and the latest launch of MT-09. Their reaction is a true reflection of their love towards Yamaha."
The biggest contributing product in the overall sales number is the Fascino scooter. The stylish scooter seems to have hit the spot with the consumers and it has overtaken the Yamaha FZ-series to become the highest selling Yamaha product in India. The Yamaha Saluto 125cc motorcycle has also recorded decent sales figures according to the Japanese manufacturer. Focusing on network expansion, Yamaha also inaugurated new dealerships across states last month powering the increase in sales.
