After dazzling the South-East Asian markets, the small-capacity Yamaha XSR is set to make its European debut soon in the form of the XSR125. Given European learners’ motorcycle licensing laws, Yamaha has had to kit the XSR with a 125cc engine. But that should be no biggie for the Japanese bikemaker as it already sells the R125 and the MT-125 there.
Currently, there are no spy or patent images of the XSR125. What we know is it will utilise the same 125cc 15PS- and 11.5Nm-producing motor. The motorcycle will look identical to the XSR155 to the T. Nearly all of the dimensions of the XSR125 match that of the XSR155, the only exception being its height. The XSR125 is 10mm taller than its larger counterpart, perhaps due to the suspension tune being firmer for Europe.
Sadly, the XSR family isn’t going to be making an India appearance anytime soon. What we are going to get instead is the oddball-looking Yamaha FZ-X that has been recently spotted sans camouflage during its TVC. Here are more details on the upcoming FZ variant.
