During the FZ-X launch event, Yamaha India also revealed a forthcoming update for the brand’s entire two-wheeler range. The new feature will be in the form of the Bluetooth connectivity option.
As of now, a few models like the FZS-FI, FZS-FI Vintage Edition feature the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X, whereas the recently launched FZ-X gets the Y-Connect Feature as an option. Going further, either of the two Bluetooth modules could be employed on the remaining range of bikes.
While the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X is a tad bit rudimentary, the Y-Connect certainly offers more value for the money. You get phone calls and SMS alerts, connected phone’s battery level, fuel consumption, maintenance recommendation, last parked location, malfunction notification and rankings as well.
Considering the connectivity feature will add a premium to the standard asking price, it makes more sense to update the bikes and scooters with the Y-Connect app. In line with this, the Yamaha MT-15 could also be updated with the dual-channel ABS.
Since the two-wheeler market is gradually picking up speed, the updated models could be launched in a few month’s timeline.
