What do the supersport and the concept have in common? Check out in the image comparison

Earlier this week, Yamaha unveiled the F155 Prototype in Vietnam and it is undoubtedly the most desirable moped we have seen in the recent years, partly because it sheds the mundane image of an underbone moped. Also, the resemblance to Yamaha’s supersport series can not be denied. Don’t believe us? Here’s an image comparison to show how close the moped is to the YZF-R15 V3.

Design
The R15 in its latest avatar takes its inspiration from the sporty YZF R6. The F155, on the other hand, looks like the lovechild of the brand’s supersport models and the Exciter moped. In fact, the moped looks more aggressive than the R15.

Headlight
The R15 features a pair of LED headlights with a faux air vent at the centre, loosely resembling the mighty R1. The F155, on the other hand, flaunts a more aggressive and futuristic fascia, thanks to its LED headlights and DRL. In fact, it even gets a RAM air vent, similar to the one on the R1.

Frame
One of the most interesting aspects of the F155 is its deltabox frame. Yes, this is the same frame that we have seen on the R15.

Console
Both the models feature a full digital console. The R15 gets a rectangular, compact unit while the F155 features a pentagonal display. Both the consoles show all the important information including engine temperature and fuel range.

Engine
The F155 shares its 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with variable valve timing that produces 18.1PS and 14.1Nm with the R15.

Brakes
The F155 and R15 get discs at both ends to perform braking duties. While the R15 gets dual-channel ABS as standard in India, the F155 Prototype didn’t have ABS, however, we expect that to change in the production model.

Tyres
The R15 runs on 17-inch wheels shod with MRF tyres (cross-ply at the front and radial at the rear). The F155 being a concept flaunted slick tyres slapped onto 17-inch rims.

Suspension
The R15 available in other markets features USD forks, we get the one with telescopic forks in our country. The F155, too features a USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear.
