The facelifted 2023 Kia Seltos has been revealed in India and is set to be launched in the coming weeks. Pre-launch bookings are set to commence on July 14. Like before, the Seltos comes in three broad trims: Tech Line, GT Line, and X-Line. And if you have your eyes on one and are looking at what’s different, here’s an explainer on what’s changed in the Seltos over the outgoing model in images.
In profile, no changes have been made to the Seltos’ sheet metal. However, higher-end variants now get 18-inch rims which were earlier limited to the X-Line trim instead of the outgoing model’s 17-inchers, giving it a beefier stance.
Changes at the rear are significant and easily noticeable, as the facelifted Seltos now gets a new set of connected LED tail lamps that look wicked, especially when illuminated. Also, top-spec trims with the turbo-petrol engine get dual exhaust tips that add to the sporty quotient.
On the inside, the facelifted Seltos now gets an integrated 10.25-inch screen comprising a fully digital driver’s display and touchscreen infotainment system. Its orientation is similar to the EV6 and looks upmarket. As a result of this layout, the central AC vents are now slimmer. There’s also a new black / tan interior colour scheme in the Tech Line trim.
Kia has thrown in a bunch of new features to make the Seltos more appealing than ever. It now gets a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and most importantly, ADAS.

Bits such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, ventilated front seats, the Bose sound system, powered driver’s seat, drive and traction modes, and the wireless phone charger have been carried forward. As for safety, it gets six airbags, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a 360-degree camera.
The Seltos’ 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine was discontinued a while ago and has now been replaced by a new 160PS 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit. It’s teamed with either a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine will be sold alongside the existing 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines.

Also, another point to note is that the turbo-petrol engine will be offered from mid-spec trim onwards, which wasn’t the case before. More details about this can be found here.
Considering the number of updates, the facelifted Seltos will command a significant premium over the outgoing model that was priced from Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to lock horns with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq as well as the upcoming Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross.
