TVS has now given its iQube Electric scooter a major update since its launch in 2020. The scooter will now be offered in three variants, and today, we’re listing down all the differences between the outgoing model and the new top-of-the-line ST variant.
Increase In Range & Top Speed
The outgoing model had a 2.25kWh Lithium-ion battery which allowed a maximum range of 75 km in Eco mode, whereas the new iQube ST features a 4.56kWh battery pack which is capable of providing a claimed real-world range of 145 km in economy mode, and 110 km in power mode.
The 4.4kW electric hub motor remains the same in both the models, thereby propelling the e-scooters from 0 to 40 kmph in 4.2 seconds. However, the top speed of the ST is higher by 4kmph at 82 kmph.
Faster Charging Speeds
The old iQube came equipped with a 500W charger that required 4 hours 30 minutes to charge from 0-80 per cent, however, TVS now offers a choice between a 950W charger or a 1500W charger for the ST variant. The company claims it takes 4 hours and 6 minutes to get the battery juiced up to 80 per cent with the 950W charger and 2 hours 30 minutes with the 1500W charger.
Geeky Features
A five-inch TFT display was standard on the outgoing model which also offered a plethora of features such as geofencing, navigation assist and incoming call alerts via the SmartXonnect app. The new ST model however gets a seven-inch TFT touchscreen display linked with a five-way joystick (located on the left switchgear). Features on offer include music control, keyless unlocking, social media notifications, navigation information and phone call options. It is also Alexa-enabled, which opens up the option of voice assistance.
Underpinnings and Storage
Underpinnings across the old model and newer model remain similar. However, the iQube ST gets adjustable rear suspension and an impressive 32 litres of under-seat storage compared with the 17-litre storage capacity of the outgoing model.
New Colours
While the old iQube was only available in white, there are lots of colour choices available for each variant, of which there are three, of the 2022 iQube. The ST variant can be had in Starlight Blue, Titanium Grey Matte, Coral Sand or Copper Bronze Matte shades. These new colours will definitely help the new iQube to stand out on the road.
Price
The old iQube variant was priced at Rs 1,00,777, and the price of the iQube ST variant is still to be announced, the expected pricing is Rs 1,23,000. In comparison, the updated iQube and the new iQube S variants are priced at Rs 98,564 and Rs 1,08,690, respectively (all prices, on-road Delhi, including FAME II and State subsidies).
Pre-booking for the standard and S variants are open with the token amount set at Rs 5,000, while the iQube ST can be reserved for Rs 999. Deliveries of the standard and S variants will commence immediately, while TVS will announce the delivery and pricing details of the ST variant soon.
