The Tata Altroz Racer has the power advantage on paper. Can it use that to beat the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, which has an enthusiast-friendly turbo-petrol engine?
The Tata Altroz Racer has been launched in India from Rs 9.49 lakh to Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It gets a sporty paint scheme, plentiful feature additions and most importantly, a more powerful turbo-petrol engine. But for similar money, one can consider the middle turbo-petrol variants of the Fronx, which has an enthusiastic turbo-petrol engine.
In this report, we are going to find out which car is quicker from 0-100kmph. But before that…
Spec Check
On paper, the Altroz Racer has the larger engine in this test and is the more powerful one in this test. The Tata hatchback is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission as opposed to the Fronx’s 5-speed unit. But do note that you can also pick up the Fronx with an optional automatic transmission, unlike the Altroz Racer.
