They say first impression is the last impression; in the case of Honda’s compact sub 4 metre sedan debutant for India and the world this phrase could not hold more truth. Since getting us conversant with the vehicle’s brilliant design integration from the basic Brio architecture and its outstanding performance courtesy an all-new revolutionary i-DTEC engine, the Amaze has become a matter of parley for all the right reasons.
Well the most highly anticipated compact sedan of the year is finally here. Honda has launched the Amaze at a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh for the base petrol model and Rs 5.99 lakh for the basic trim diesel version. There are four basic variants in both petrol and diesel versions. – E, EX, S and VX with Manual Transmission. Additionally, the Amaze is available in Automatic Transmission in S and VX petrol grades. Six colour options are on offer: Majestic Blue Metallic (new and exclusive), Carnelian Red Pearl, Urban Titanium Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl and Taffeta White
Like we informed you earlier, the Honda Amaze for India has under its hood a 1.2-litre, 4 Cylinder, SOHC, i-VTEC engine that dishes out 88PS @ 6,000 rpm and 109Nm of torque @ 4,500 rpm. The first of its kind from the Honda stable i.e. the 1.5-litre, 4 Cylinder, DOHC, i-DTEC diesel engine will produce 100PS@ 3,600 and 200Nm of torque @1,750 rpm. Fuel efficiency on the diesel version is approximately 22kmpl.
Talking about the development of the Amaze, Yoshiyuki Matsumoto, Managing Officer, Honda Motor Company and Representative of Development, Purchasing and Production in Asia & Oceania Region said, "Honda Amaze is our most strategic model in the Indian market and has been developed with strong focus on Indian requirements."
The sedan despite catering to a price sensitive consumer has been loaded with features that will make it a great prospect for any family. Electric Power Steering, Front and Rear power windows, keyless entry, 2DIN Integrated Audio (AM/FM,Mp3,USB,Aux-in), rear defogger, fuel consumption display, cup holders and exterior styling elements like body coloured ORVMs and front and rear bumpers add to the overall premium touch on the Amaze (Read : Honda Amaze Special Coverage).
Safety equipment is also impressive with driver seat belt reminders, WAVE key and a high mount stop lamp being offered as standard across all variants. ABS with EBD will be offered on all trims except the E, EX and S petrol variants.
The Honda Amaze comes with a 2 years or 40,000 kms warranty as standard value for all customers. With a view to give the Amaze customers, a transparent and quality service experience, HCIL has offered an attractive Honda Care maintenance package for 2 years or 40,000 kms (whichever is earlier) for Rs 9,996 for Amaze Petrol and Rs 15,375 for Amaze Diesel.
