Royal Enfield recently launched the Scram 440 at a price of Rs 2,08,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). At this price point there are also a number of other motorcycles which can be considered.. Lets have a closer look at the options.

The Suzuki V-Strom is a motorcycle with some proper adventure tourer-like credentials. It gets its styling from the bigger V-Stroms in Suzuki’s lineup and it does look striking. The V-Strom SX gets an OBD-2B compliant 249cc single-cylinder, air and oil-cooled motor that puts out 26.5PS and 22.2Nm. The V-Strom SX gets a telescopic fork and a monoshock with preload adjustability. For braking duties it gets a 300mm front and 220mm rear disc brake setup with dual-channel ABS. The seat height of the V-Strom 250 is 835mm. In terms of features, it gets an LED headlight and a digital instrument console which provides the rider with all the basic information like speed, rpm, fuel, temperature, trip info, service reminder, time and side stand warning. It also gets smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth and allows additional features like turn-by-turn navigation, and SMS and call alerts. The V-Strom SX gets a 12-litre fuel tank and has a kerb weight of 167kg.

The Hero Mavrick 440 is currently the biggest capacity motorcycle sold by Hero MotoCorp. The Mavrick 440 offers a simple yet striking design which makes it look quite bold. It gets a 440cc single-cylinder, air and oil-cooled motor which makes 27PS and 36Nm. The Mavrick 440 gets a 43mm telescopic fork and a preload adjustable monoshock. It gets 320mm front and a 240mm rear disc brake setup along with dual-channel ABS. The seat for the Hero Mavrick 440 is kept at a low 803mm and it has a kerb weight of 191kg.  In terms of features, it gets all LED lights and a fully digital instrument console which shows all the basic information like speed, rpm, temperature, fuel, trip info, service reminder and gear position indicator. The display also gets smartphone connectivity and gets features like turn-by-turn navigation and SMS and call alerts.

KTM RC200

Price - Rs 2,20,192 (ex-showroom Delhi)

 

The KTM RC200 is a proper supersport motorcycle from KTM. It gets a beautifully designed full fairing along with a narrow tail section which gives the RC200 a desirable appearance.

The KTM RC200 gets a 199cc single cylinder, liquid cooled motor which puts out 25PS and 19.2Nm. This engine is known for its quick-revving nature and consistent power delivery. It gets a 43mm WP Apex USD fork and a monoshock with preload adjustability. It has a seat height of 835mm and weighs 160kg. It gets a 249cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 31PS and 25Nm. The engine is from the KTM 250 Duke and promises good performance. The Vitpilen 250 gets WP Apex suspension setup, with a 43mm USD fork and a monoshock with preload adjustability. The kerb weight for the Vitpilen 250 is 167kg. The saddle height is a decent 820mm. In terms of features, this motorcycle gets all LED lights, Supermoto ABS, ride-by-wire throttle and a quickshifter. It gets a 6-speed gearbox and the engine offers enough performance for touring. The Yezdi gets 41mm telescopic fork with 200mm of travel and a rear monoshock with 180mm of travel, along with 7-step preload adjustability. For braking duties, it gets a 320mm front and 240mm rear disc brake setup. The seat height for the Adventure is an accessible 815mm while the motorcycle weighs 187kg. In terms of features, it gets an all LED headlight and ABS modes: Road, Rain and Off-road. It gets a digital instrument console which shows all the basic information along with smartphone connectivity to allow turn-by-turn navigation.
