Yamaha MT-03: Same Price Other Options

Yamaha India has recently slashed the prices of the MT-03 street naked motorcycle in India. The bike is now priced at Rs 3,49,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and received a price reduction by a whopping Rs 1,10,000. Let’s look at what other options you can get in the same price range as the MT-03.
KTM RC 390
Price: Rs 3,21,173 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The KTM RC 390, now in its second generation, is a sportbike from the Austrian manufacturer. It gets a very sporty and aggressive design which some might find polarizing. The bike now gets revised ergonomics in the form of raised clip-on handlebars and a more accommodating seat. It is powered by a 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which makes 43.5PS and and 37Nm and it is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch and bidirectional quickshifter. The bike gets tons of features such as all-LED lighting, a TFT display, dual-channel ABS which is switchable for the rear wheel, switchable traction control, cornering ABS and a lot more.
BMW G 310 GS
Price: Rs 3,30,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The BMW G 310 GS is an adventure motorcycle, which is the result of a collaboration between BMW Motorrad and TVS Motors. It gets a distinct design characterised by a sharp, high-mounted front beak, gold coloured fork and a slim tail section. The G 310 GS is powered by a 313cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which makes 34PS and 28Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. In terms of features, it gets all-LED lighting, an LCD instrument cluster, and adjustable brake and clutch levers.
Kawasaki KLX230
Price: Rs 3,30,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The Kawasaki KLX230 is a proper dual-sport motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer. It gets a purpose built, offroad oriented design which is highlighted by long-travel suspension at both ends and an upswept exhaust. The bike is powered by a 233cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 18.1PS and 18.3Nm, which is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle has a light kerb weight of just 139kg, a massive ground clearance of 265mm and a towering seat height of 880mm. It gets an LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and an USB charging port available as an optional accessory.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650
Price: From Rs 3,63,900 up to Rs 3,94,347 (ex-showroom, Chennai)
The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is a cruiser style motorcycle. The bike shares the same platform as the Shotgun 650 and the Classic 650. It is powered by a 649cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 47PS and 52.3Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. In terms of features, the bike gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, LED headlight and tail light.
Yamaha YZF-R3
Price: Rs 3,59,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The Yamaha YZF-R3 is the fully-faired sibling of the MT-03. The bike gets a sporty design, raised clip-on handlebars and a slim tail section. It shares the same 321cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the MT-03, which makes 42PS and 29.5Nm, with a 6-speed gearbox. It gets an inverted telescopic fork and a monoshock. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS. It gets all-LED lighting, and an LCD instrument cluster.
