Big and brawny, the new bike still has an imposing presence

As the 2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 nears its September 1 launch, the hype around it is incredible. And if you thought the previous specifications leak added fuel to the fire, what’s now surfaced online will make Bullet fanboys’ eagerness go through the roof. Literally a day before its launch, a short walkaround of the new Bullet 350 has been doing the rounds on the internet.

Now, while the video isn’t an extremely detailed one, it does give us our first glance of the new-gen Bullet 350 (spy shots excluded), and a quick look will tell you that it looks every bit a Bullet with its wide single-piece seat and the slightly bigger fenders. The lack of a headlight visor also tells us that this one is the mid-spec Bullet. Look closely and the updated switchgear, the new semi-digital console and the lack of a kick-starter will tell you that it is the J-series Bullet. Another major new bit includes the 349cc engine, making 20.4PS and 27Nm, as seen on the Meteor 350, Hunter 350 and the Classic 350.

Interestingly, the video also says that there is a 500cc and an Electra variant of the Bullet incoming. That isn’t really true and Royal Enfield mentioned it in the teaser just for perspective. Plus the USP about the Electra back in the day was its electric start feature. But now with the kick-start gone, bringing the Electra doesn’t really make sense.

In a nutshell, Royal Enfield is all set to launch the new Bullet 350 tomorrow, and we think it could be priced around Rs 1.80 lakh, ex-showroom. It’ll primarily rival the Benelli Imperiale 400. Other affordable alternatives include the Yamaha FZ-X and the Kawasaki W175.
