The 2024 Tata Nexon has been snapped once again, and this time we got a closer look at its production-spec headlights. The testing of the subcompact SUV is in full swing and it’s expected to break cover sometime next year. And each and every time the SUV has been snapped, there’s something new that we are able to pinpoint.
The Tata Nexon will be one of the latest SUVs to join the split headlights trend. It is for the first time we get to see its production-spec LED headlights (the first for a Tata) in action. Above it sit the LED DRLs running the full width of the car, with grooves on either side that look really cool. Overall, the front-end design is inspired by the Curvv concept displayed at Auto Expo 2023.
Save for the new alloys, its silhouette is similar to that of the current model. And at the rear, the Nexon gets connected LED tail lamps that dial up the premiumness by a couple of notches.
Previous spy pictures gave us a proper glimpse of its heavily redesigned cabin, which gets the two-spoke steering wheel and touch-based climate control from the Curvv. Also, it seems to feature a new fully digital driver’s display and the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system also made its presence felt.
Features on board should include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, a Harman sound system, a single-pane sunroof, cruise control, and ventilated front seats. Safety will also see a boost with the addition of six airbags, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and electronic parking brake.
There will be changes underneath the hood as the 2024 Nexon is expected to get the carmaker’s new 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine. It could be paired with the carmaker’s 6-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre diesel engine and existing electric powertrains should be carried forward as it is.
The 2024 Tata Nexon will command a premium over the outgoing model that was priced from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will renew its rivalry with the Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, and the upcoming facelifted Mahindra XUV300.
