Two test mules were spotted sporting different wheels.
New vertical LED tail lamps spotted from earlier images, with changes to the grille, LED headlights and DRLs expected.
Feature additions could include a bigger digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof and ADAS.
Should soldier on with its current 1.4-litre turbo-petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine lineups.
Prices are likely to start from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
While the Hyundai Creta has already gotten a midlife refresh in Indonesia, its group sibling, the Kia Seltos, is due one itself and has been spotted multiple times testing in markets abroad. This time it's made an appearance again, but now it's shown up in India for the first time.
While the SUV is still under a heavy disguise, the latest images show two units in different trims. One sported alloy wheels, while the other was strapped with steel wheel covers. Other than that the most recognisable bit is the snazzier vertical LED tail lamp design spotted abroad. Also expect changes to the front grille and a fresh LED DRL design.
We’re yet to have a look inside, but we think it’ll gain the Hyundai Alcazar’s 10.25-inch digital driver’s display as well as a panoramic sunroof aside from retaining bits such as the 360-degree camera, head-up display, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and ventilated front seats. We could also have ADAS added to the mix, as the India-bound facelifted Hyundai Creta is slated to get it.
Under the hood, things will likely remain as is. The Seltos currently comes with either a 140PS 1.4-litre turbo-petrol, a 115PS 1.5-litre petrol, or a 115PS 1.5-litre diesel engine. A 6-speed manual is standard for all, with automatic options including a 6-speed AT, 7-speed DCT and a CVT gearbox, depending on the engine. There’s also a 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual gearbox) on offer for the 1.5-litre petrol mill.
Expect Kia India to launch the updated Seltos by early next year at prices starting from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards. Aside from the Hyundai Creta, it’ll take on the VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor/Hector, Tata Harrier, and the Mahindra XUV700 five-seater.
