ADV Type design elements like a beak and larger windscreen
The upcoming Hero Xoom 160 has been spotted in its production form and it looks quite similar to what we saw at EICMA back in 2023. The new spyshots of the maxi-scooter give us an up close look at most of the things the scooter will get, when it launches.
Hero Xoom 160 Design
The Hero Xoom 160 will get a twin LED headlight setup, LED DRLs, and halogen indicators. Overall the Hero Xoom 160 looks big and bold in terms of proportions and will appeal to all sorts of customers who are looking for a sporty scooter. The Hero Xoom 160 gets ADV inspired front fascia like a beak and bigger front visor. Overall the Hero Xoom 160 does look quite good.
Hero Xoom 160 Features
In terms of features the Hero Xoom 160 will have a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn by turn navigation. It’s the same display that’s also on the Hero Xoom 110. However, one of the Hero Xoom 160’s highlights is its keyless operation – handle lock & unlock, and the underseat storage will be accessed using a dial rather than a traditional key fob. Adding to the Xoom’s practicality is its rather large underseat storage that should be able to accommodate a full size helmet.
Hero Xoom 160 Engine
During its showcase at EICMA 2023, Hero also gave us an idea of the engine specs. It will get a 156cc liquid-cooled engine that is expected to make about 14PS and 13.7Nm. If so, it will be one of the most powerful 160cc scooters in India.
Hero Xoom 160 Underpinnings
The Hero Xoom 160 is expected to have a telescopic front fork and dual rear shocks. The maxi-scooter will have disc brakes on both ends. In the spyshot, the scooter is equipped with block-pattern tyres that give it a rugged look.
ZigSays
The Hero Xoom 160 will be launched by the end of this month and its price is expected to be somewhere around Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom). Its direct competitors are the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the Aprilia SXR 160. There has been a rising demand for powerful 160cc scooters in the country, and the Hero Xoom 160 could fill in the void with its relatively lower price and a decent performance on offer.
