Jeep India has dropped the first teaser of the new Grand Cherokee SUV ahead of its official debut in November. The flagship SUV will be brought to India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) model and will be assembled at the carmaker’s Ranjangaon facility. So yes, one can expect a competitive price tag to take on its well-established rivals.

In today’s press statement, Jeep has confirmed that the Grand Cherokee will be equipped with a full suite of Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS), the second one to get it in its segment only after the Volvo XC90. So you can expect bits like forward collision avoidance assist, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control to be present.

Other notable features onboard in the USA-spec model include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, connected car tech, an optional infotainment screen for the co-driver, digital driver’s display, 19-speaker McIntosh sound system, a head-up display, and a wireless phone charger. It remains to be seen which of these features will make it to India.

An earlier press statement has already confirmed that the India-spec Grand Cherokke will get just the base-spec, 2-litre, four-pot turbo-petrol engine spinning all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Jeep’s Selec Terrain off-road management system will be present and will manage various parameters of the vehicle depending on the mode you select.
