Kawasaki has released a teaser of a new motorcycle set to debut on October 1, 2022. While the teaser clip doesn’t show the bike itself, it shows the ‘ZX’ logo, hinting that the new product could be the Ninja ZX-4R.
In August, leaked documents revealed that the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R will be powered by an 399cc inline-four engine. Though performance figures are yet to be revealed, we expect it to be around 70PS. For perspective, the ZX-25R makes 49.9PS at 15,500rpm and 22.9Nm at 14,500rpm.
The document also revealed that the bike will come in two variants: ZX400PP and ZX400SP. Though it’s hard to speculate the difference between the two, the SP will likely feature better hardware, while the PP variant may be void of ABS in the US market.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is unlikely to make it to India, owing to its high production cost. Considering the Ninja 400 costs Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom India), the price of the ZX-4R could be well over that, putting it in the league of mid-displacement bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja 650.
