Spy shots reveal two test mules shod in what looks like a grey and maroon red body shade.
Likely to be equipped with features such as a large touchscreen, connected car tech, digital instrument cluster and panoramic sunroof.
It could borrow the Maxus D90’s 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engines.
Expect prices to start around the Rs 40 lakh to Rs 45 lakh mark.
MG Motor India continues testing the Gloster in India with a couple of test mules spotted near Halol. But this time, the test mules sport what looks like a grey and maroon red body shade aside from the white and black shade seen previously. Showcased at Auto Expo 2020 back in February, the Gloster is a 7-seater SUV which is essentially a rebadged version of the Maxus D90. It is expected to launch in India by Diwali this year.
The MG Gloster stands out with its large proportions and butch stance via body cladding. Other notable elements include a large slatted grille flanked by slim LED headlamps, a swanky set of dual-tone alloy wheels, and split LED tail lamps at the rear.
Spy shots of the Gloster’s interior reveal a cabin similar to the Maxus D90 it is based on with a flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel. MG could also offer other seating layouts for the Gloster just like the Hector Plus.

Expect the Gloster to be loaded with features such as a large touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, panoramic sunroof, a digital premium sound system, and a digital instrument cluster. Safety features could include up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors with a rearview camera, and electronic stability control.
Since it is based on the Maxus D90, expect the Gloster to be powered by the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engines as the former. The petrol mill makes 224PS and 360Nm, whereas the diesel mill puts out 215PS and 480Nm. Both engines are likely to be paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, while the petrol engine could get an additional 6-speed manual transmission option.
Expect MG Motor India to price the Gloster around the Rs 40 lakh to Rs 45 lakh mark (ex-showroom). The 7-seater SUV will go up against the likes of the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra Alturas G4.
