The XUV300 will be getting its first major overhaul where Mahindra will be addressing one of its achilles heel: its interior

  • Facelifted Mahindra XUV300 spotted testing once again.
  • These images give usa glimpse of the model’s interior, which gets a floating infotainment system.
  • Likely to get ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger and 360-degree camera.
  • Existing engine options should be carried forward.
  • Launch likely in 2024.

The facelifted Mahindra XUV300 has been spotted testing once again on our shores with more complete design touches. In fact, so complete that this particular test mule seems to be a close-to-production model. Expected to be launched in early 2024, this will be the first major overhaul for the nameplate, which has been on sale since February 2019.

This is the first time we’re getting a peek at the XUV300’s cabin, which has been heavily revised. It gets a floating touchscreen infotainment system, giving the dashboard a more modern outlook. Right below it are the central AC vents. The dashboard seems to be finished in a black/beige hue.

We can’t discern much about the exterior design revisions as this test mule is heavily draped in camouflage. However, from the looks of it, the model gets a revised grille and new LED headlamps with DRLs. The model also rolls on new alloys, while the rear end could get connected LED tail lamps to keep up with the trend.

Mahindra could also take this opportunity to introduce new features such as a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats and, probably, a 360-degree camera, in the XUV300. Bits such as sunroof, automatic climate control, steering-mounted audio controls, cruise control, six airbags, and electronic stability control should be carried forward.

Another bit that should be retained is its existing engine options, which includes a 110PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, 130PS 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol and a 117PS 1.5-litre diesel. All engines get a 6-speed manual as standard, while the 110PS turbo-petrol and 117PS diesel engines get an optional 6-speed AMT.

All of these updates means the Mahindra XUV300 will command a premium over the current model that is priced from Rs 7.99 lakh onwards (ex-showroom). It will continue rivalling the Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite and the upcoming facelifted Tata Nexon.
