The 2024 Tata Safari’s interior will borrow plenty of elements from the Avinya and Curvv concepts

  • 2024 Tata Safari’s heavily revised interior snapped for the first time.
  • Will get a new 4-spoke steering wheel and heavily revised centre console.
  • Rotary knob for drive mode selector with display will be lifted off from Nexon EV Max.
  • New features should include enhanced ambient lighting and paddle shifters.
  • Tata to plonk in the new 1.5-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine with this update.
  • Launch expected sometime in 2024.

New images of the 2024 Tata Safari’s cabin have revealed a comprehensively revised interior ahead of its introduction. The heavily revised 3-row SUV has been snapped multiple times and will get exterior design touches that were previewed by the Harrier EV Concept at Auto Expo 2023.

But shifting our focus back to the interior, the 2024 Tata Safari will get plenty of design touches seen in the Curvv and Avinya concepts. The main highlight is the heavily revised central console that will get the new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which debuted recently in Tata cars, and new climate control knobs with likely haptic buttons a la the Curvv concept.

The central AC vents also seem to be restyled while you can notice the new gear knob and  drive mode selector, which gets a display like the Nexon EV Max. The driver will also get to hold a new 4-spoke steering wheel that could get a display from the Avinya concept in between, showing driving data. It also gets paddle shifters if you intend to have some fun.

To elevate the overall cabin experience, the ambient lighting could be enhanced and might get more colour options as well. Bits such as the digital driver’s display, ventilated front and middle (only 6-seater) row seats, powered driver’s seat with memory function and ADAS should be carried forward from the current model.

Also, currently, the Harrier and Safari miss out on lane-keep assist with the ADAS suite, which could be added in the facelift. And to support this functionality, the power steering could be upgraded to an electronic unit. It should also get six airbags as standard.

Underneath the hood, the 170PS 2-litre diesel engine should be carried forward with the existing 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options. It could also get turbo-petrol power, courtesy of Tata’s new 1.5-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine that debuted at Auto Expo 2023. This engine could be paired with a DCT as hinted by the presence of paddle shifters.

To take a closer look at the exterior design changes of the Tata Safari, check out this report. It could command a notable premium over the current model that is priced from Rs 15.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted SUV will renew its rivalry with the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar.
