Google Maps, no doubt, is the most popular app used for navigation across the globe. And with the latest update, Google has introduced a host of new features in its maps app that makes life a whole lot easier while you’re on the road. So without wasting your time, let’s see what those new features are:
Immersive View
With the help of AI, which fuses together multiple images and views, Google has now introduced a real-life immersive view of its maps. Thanks to this feature, you can now have a real-life view of the route you’re taking and can even see traffic conditions, weather, roadblocks and much more.
Check Out Surroundings Using Google Lens
Google has now integrated its Lens feature in its maps to make discoveries much easier. Once again, with the help of AI, you can now find popular places and hidden gems using Lens and it will pull up all the details of the place before you intend to visit it. This feature is very useful for those who are on a vacation or trip and intend to explore places.

More Info For EV Owners
This one is helpful for those who own an electric car. Maps will now show you more in-depth information about EV chargers, including if it's compatible with your car, whether it is a fast or slow charger or even if the station isn’t working or is accommodated. Extremely helpful, especially when you’re planning to take your EV on a long road trip.
Detailed Map View
Google Maps will now offer an even more in-depth view of the maps to make life easier on the road. A few examples include showing more realistic views of the building and roads to help you reach your final destination or showcasing a more detailed view of the exit from the motorway. Small enhancements to make your life easier.
Updated Search Functionality
Maps also has an updated search functionality, where it will now suggest places on what you feel like doing. So for example, if you type in ‘I’m hungry’, it will pull the closest restaurants to your vicinity. Or if you’re visiting a new place, simply type in ‘things to do’ and it will give you suggestions with images.
Do note that these features will be introduced overseas before it comes to India. But which one caught your eye? Let us know in the comments.
