When looking for a family-oriented scooter, we try to get something that is able to offer good performance and features. While at the same time also being easygoing enough so everyone in the family can also use it. The 2024 TVS Jupiter 110, is one such scooter that promises to do all that. But how well is the new 2024 Jupiter 110 able to do this? Well, after riding it for a few weeks, we now have the answer.
The 2024 TVS Jupiter 110 offers a new look, which is a stark departure from the plain and simple designs which we have seen on family-oriented scooters.
The Juptier features a boxy profile overall, but gets sharp styling elements here and there. The apron mounted LED DRL and the integrated indicator setup is one example of this, and it gives the scooter a stylish look.
The metallic badging, which is present on the apron and body panels gives the scooter a premium look and feel, along with the matte finish.
TVS has executed the design really well and the new Jupiter feels like a massive improvement over the previous generation Jupiter 110. Compared to the other family oriented scooters in the market, the Jupiter really does stand out.
The TVS Jupiter offers relaxed and uptight riding ergonomics, which is quite comfortable. The well cushioned seat adds another layer of comfort along with the relaxed riding posture. What I really liked about the seat is how good foam thickness it has to offer, which makes it easy to go on longer rides without having to worry about your butt sinking into the seat and making the ride uncomfortable.
The large size and overall spacious nature of the seat also offers enough room for larger riders and even the pillion to move around a bit and adjust their position. The scooter overall really does a good job offering a comfortable experience, something which you would really want on a scooter that is meant for the family.
With the 2024 update, the Jupiter has undergone a lot of changes and the addition of a larger 113.3cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine is one of them. The new engine produces 8.02PS and 9.2Nm. Combined with the iGo Assist, the scooter is able to offer a temporary boost of 0.6Nm.
When it comes to real world performance, the scooter delivers peppy acceleration and exciting performance. What makes this even better is the refined nature of the engine, with little to no vibrations being present.
The Jupiter feels really energetic overall and during my rides in the city and highway, the scooter didn’t feel like it was struggling to keep up at all. The iGo boost gives the power needed to push through and execute some fast overtakes, which is something I really appreciate.
The torque assist also makes a difference when you’re riding at higher speeds on the highway. Overall, the Jupiter 110 has really impressed me with its performance and shows that family oriented scooters don’t have to be slow and dull.
The TVS Jupiter 110 is a really light scooter that you can move around in the parking lot without much trouble. The light weight also plays a big role when it comes to riding, and the scooter feels really agile and flickable in city traffic. The small profile also helps riders filter through traffic really well.
The ride quality is really plush and the scooter feels stable when riding at highway speeds of 80kmph and the suspension can handle small bumps and potholes. The ride quality is balanced even when you have a pillion on-board.
The braking performance is good, with the front disc feeling really responsive and offering good feedback. The rear brake is a drum setup so it is obviously not as responsive as the front disc. That said, for the best braking performance, riders should get on both brake levers to get the scooter to a quick stop.
Overall, the Jupiter 110 offers really good handling and ride quality. As a family oriented scooter, the Jupiter 110 is pretty good and manages to get the job done.
The main feature that a family oriented scooter has to get right is storage. In this regard, the TVS Jupiter 110 is unrivalled. It offers a massive 33-litre boot space which can easily accommodate two half faced helmets. For perspective, the previous generation TVS Jupiter 110 only had 21-litre boot space on offer.
To achieve this, TVS had shifted the scooter’s fuel tank to the floorboard, something which they had previously done on the TVS Jupiter 125. The increase in bootspace is a really nice change, and something I personally appreciate the most. During bad weather, you can easily store your backpacks and electronics on the boot and not have to worry about them getting wet.
The fuel filler cap is now mounted on the apron, and this has added a bit of convenience when going to the fuel pump to refuel the scooter.
Coming to the instrument console, the Jupiter 110 gets a colour LCD unit, which displays essential information like speed, fuel level, odometer and trip meter readouts, along with a few other readouts. The readouts include an iGo assist ready alert and an instantaneous mileage readout.
The mileage readout and the iGo assist ready alert being placed in the same space makes the cluster feel a bit cluttered. This is a bit annoying but not a major deal breaker overall. The console also offers features such as turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts which are nice additions. Feature wise, the Jupiter 110 manages to tick all the right boxes and has got you pretty much covered on all fronts be it storage or connectivity.
The TVS Jupiter 110 is one of those rare scooters which is able to tick almost all the boxes, be it looks, comfort, performance and features. The 2024 update has really made a difference and when compared to its rivals, the Jupiter 110 manages to really stand out. If you are someone who is looking for a family scooter, then it's best to just go for the 2024 TVS Jupiter 110.
The scooter is offered in 4 variants and here’s a breakdown of the prices:
Variant |
Price (ex-showroom, Delhi) |
Drum |
Rs 73,700 |
Drum Alloy |
Rs 79,200 |
Drum SmartXonnect |
Rs 83,250 |
Disc SmartXonnect |
Rs 87,250 |
The only issue I have is that TVS is not offering a standalone disc variant without connectivity features. As someone who doesn’t really use connectivity features, I will still have to buy the disc variant with TVS SmartXonnect for better braking performance with the front disc. A lot of customers would have appreciated it.
Compared to its main rival, the Honda Activa 6G, the TVS Jupiter 110 manages to offer a lot more and feels like a better value for money proposition with its modern appeal.
