We're looking at a product that really is going to come handy when the monsoons hits us this year: a pressure water pump from a new brand called Dylect. They make a range of car care products that include pressure washers, tyre Inflators and car vacuum cleaners, to name a few. Seeing that our test and shoot cars need to be spotless and clean for every shoot, this could be worth its weight in gold.
The product we are reviewing is the Ultra Power 305 pressure washer. It features a copper-wound motor, a three-piston pump rated at 1800 watts and 150 bar. pressure. It comes with ten accessories that include a soap dispensing bottle, a water filter and even a quick connector to a faucet main line. It sits in the middle of the Dylect lineup and retails for Rs 6499 on online stores.
Setup is super easy, with everything clicking Into place easily and without any hassle at all. It needs mains power and there is a long enough cord to connect it to a power supply on the outside of a house or bungalow or our office. If you do not have an external power socket at your home you may need an extension box as the cord is long but not super long.

The pump can be connected either to a mains water supply or even a bucket of water. Simply connect the supply hose to the main pump housing, add the water filter and place it in the bottom of the bucket. And that's it, you're ready to go.
The Ultra Power has an easy to use nozzle and this has different flow rates and shapes depending on the part of the car you’re cleaning. First a nice powerful jet to knock off all the dirt and grime from the wheel wells and then switch to a more gentle spray to wash the other body panels. The soap dispenser does its job reasonably well, and is as easy to use as the rest of the pump. The only complaint we had was that the pump gun nozzle is a little long to really allow you to clean the upper sides of the wheel wells properly without your hands hitting the ground. This though is easily fixed by purchasing the angled nozzle which is among the many available accessories that pair with the Dylect range of car washers.
One more thing to keep in mind when using a bucket as the water source is making sure that the inlet with the filter on it is properly under the surface of the water. If not, air can get into the system and this will cause the waterflow to cut off for a few seconds. Keep the trigger pressed till this air is ejected and the water starts flowing.
Overall, the Dylect Ultra Power 305 is well built, easy to set up and use, and a great solution for a home -use car wash system. It's priced well too and if you really like your cars spotless like we need to have ours, then you shouldn't be disappointed with this product.
