My trusty TVS Radeon was due for a tyre change, and TVS Eurogrip sent us the new DuraPro tyres just in time. You can check out the full context on what the tyres are about, how much they cost, in our introduction report here.
But once I got the front tyre changed, the bike’s handling dynamics felt much more natural. The DuroPro’s block-pattern construction not only offers a bit better grip than the stock tyre but is also reassuring on slushy roads. I’ve taken my partner through remote villages nestled deep inside the ghats, only connected by long stretches of broken roads more often than not filled with dirt, and the DuraPro helped the bike emerge unscathed. It doesn’t break composure nor your confidence when the bike is fully laden while going over such roads.
Wet grip is decent as long as you’re not pushing the bike, especially considering it’s quite skinny. The deep grooves help in channelling the water, minimising hydroplaning. On dry roads, the grip is plenty for all its intents and purposes. It’s no Protorq Extreme, but just gets the job done.
Take a look at the TVS Radeon price
For the first few months, I was having recurring tyre valve issues, so my efficiency figures weren’t up to the mark. I got around 55.2kmpl as it used to deflate considerably after a few days. However, once it was sorted, I got a phenomenal 87.82kmpl, with 95 percent usage restricted within the city.
Summing up, for just a little over two thousand rupees, the DuraPro is a good investment compared to the stock tyre as it really gives you better confidence on bad roads - something these 110cc commuters will often be used on. I just wish TVS Eurogrip offered something designed for the front as well, under the same model name. Having different models for the front and rear tyre from the same brand really triggers my OCD!
