Over the last few months, the TVS Jupiter has proved to be a dependable and hassle free commuter, with very little to complain about
TVS Jupiter long term user review after riding for 4000km

My trusted steed has crossed the 4,000km mark on the speedo, and its already time to bid adieu. The TVS Jupiter scooter will always have a special place in my life, and Facebook timeline, since it’s my first longterm vehicle after I joined ZigWheels about a year ago.

Quick trips round the corner to a couple of long rides; the TVS Jupiter has literally been on my side in rain and sunshine. It has proved to be a no-nonsense and very dependable scooter with a couple of smart design features – like the very convenient external fuel cap; riding modes to help control the throttle input and in turn improve fuel efficiency; low fuel indicator; and a couple of very useful and well built hook to hang small bags on. No wonder the TVS Jupiter has become such a common sight on our roads.

Like any other vehicle, even the TVS Jupiter has a few drawbacks - like the spongy brakes. Being a gearless scooter, one doesn’t have the option of gears or engine braking to slow down the vehicle and has to depend more on the brakes, which could do with better feel and bite. Due to this, the parking brake on slopes isn’t very effective either.

The other issue, if I may call it one, is the soft seat and suspension setup. These are very comfortable during regular city commute, but if you want to push the 110cc scooter, then the suspension plays spoils sport and on long rides the seat foam sinks with the ride and passenger weight.

Besides these minor issues, I cannot think of any other negative point for this very well-built and refined scooter. TVS is known for its low cost of ownership and TVS Jupiter is one of the easier scooters to maintain. If you are in the market for a quality 110cc scooter for long term use, the TVS Jupiter should definitely be on your shortlist. Being among the few scooters which have impressed us of late, we give the TVS Jupiter thumbs up.
