TVS Jupiter MillionR: 6,000km Long Term Review

The TVS Jupiter MillionR has shifted cities and moved from the coastal weather of Mumbai to the plains of Pune. And what a time for me to get the keys to it. The onset of monsoons and my affinity for two wheelers to navigate the chaos that it Pune traffic - a scooter is a perfect weapon for the season and the place.

The front apron keeps puddle splashes at bay while the underseat storage should keep your valuables safe and dry. The Jupiter always came with a large underseat bay but this one comes with the added convenience of a USB charging port. 

I always felt that the Jupiter was a well thought of design and living with it reaffirms its convenience. The external fuel filler cap means no getting off the scooter at fuel pumps. A twist of the key does the trick. There is lots of legroom up front, enough for me to place my backpack (another reason why I love scooters) and still have space to place my feet inside the scooter.

The suspension and large 13-inch wheels combo is simply brilliant. It soaks up the worst Pune roadworks throws at a hapless commuter. The MillionR has the second best brakes I have tested on a scooter (first being the Aprilia SR 150). Sharp, surefooted and without much dive from the front suspension, they are a huge leap in terms of braking from the drum brake-equipped version. 

The best part is the quality. The Jupiter MillionR was used by my colleague Arun in Mumbai for ten months before it was ridden all the way down to Pune to me. Now I was expecting rust, creaks and rattles. Surprisingly, it looks fresh, and rides as well as it was new. It simply does not feel like it has gone through ten months of use in one of the most caustic environments for vehicles.
