Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Latest Updates

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is the cheapest Royal Enfield bike in India. It is also the lightest Royal Enfield bike, designed to bring in new riders to the brand. It is more accessible and easier to handle than other heavier Royal Enfield bikes, making it ideal for a wider variety of riders. It is the third Royal Enfield bike to be built on the all-new platform with the new, refined, counterbalanced 350cc engine.

What is the maximum price of Hunter 350?

The maximum price of Hunter 350 is Rs 1,74,655 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the Rebel variant range, available in Rebel Red, Rebel Blue and Rebel Black. All the three colours have the same price tag.

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 variants explained

The Royal Enfield comes in two broad variants: Retro and Metro. The Retro variant is available only in Factory Black colour scheme. This is the cheapest Hunter 350 variant, with a price of Rs 1,49,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). To keep the price competitive, Royal Enfield has equipped the cheaper Hunter variant with spoke wheels wrapped with tubed tyres that are slightly slimmer than the tubeless tyres in the alloy wheel variant. The Hunter 350 with spoke wheels also comes with a single-channel ABS, along with a rear drum brake. It also features a semi-digital instrument cluster with an analogue speedometer, a small digital inset that shows the odometer reading and fuel level.

The Hunter 350 Metro variant with alloy wheels come with 7 different colour schemes, some at different price points. Apart from the alloy wheels and the fatter tubeless tyres and dual-channel ABS, this variant also gets retro rotary-style switchgear, a more info-packed semi-digital instrument cluster with gear position indicator, tripmeters, clock and other details, more premium seat cover, and split aluminium grab rails.

What are the colours of the Hunter 350cc?

You can buy the Hunter 350 in one of 8 colours, one with spoke wheels and the rest with alloy wheels. The Hunter 350 in Factory Black colour is the cheapest Royal Enfield bike, priced at Rs 1,49,900. The Dapper Orange, Dapper Green, Dapper White and Dapper Grey colours are all priced the same, which is Rs 1,69,656. The top-end Rebel Black, Rebel Blue and Rebel Red come with a price tag of Rs 1,74,655 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 best colour

The best Hunter 350 colour in our opinion would be the Dapper Green. It looks properly premium, attention-grabbing and the colour is also a throwback to the iconic British Racing green colour, popular in motorsports. More importantly, it is also cheaper than the top variant that comes in Rebel Black/ Blue/ Red, while getting the same features.

How fast can Hunter 350 go? (Key specs and tested figures)

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 power and torque figures are the same as the Classic 350, which is 20.2PS at 6100rpm and 27Nm at 4000rpm. However, the Hunter 350 pickup is quicker than Classic because of its lighter kerb weight and smaller wheels. The Hunter 350 0-60kmph time is 5.24 seconds whereas 0-100kmph pickup time is 16.40 seconds. While the Hunter 350 can reach speeds of 110-120kmph if needed, the engine feels most comfortable at around 90kmph.

What is the mileage of the Hunter 350?

The Hunter 350 mileage is 40.19kmpl in the city and 35.98kmpl on the highway. These are real-world, tested mileage figures, and are decent for a 350cc bike.

Is the Hunter 350 heavy?

At 178kg for the spoke wheel variant and 181kg (both kerb) for the alloy wheel variants, the Hunter is a somewhat heavy bike. However, its seat is pretty accessible at 790mm, and the seat profile is also narrow enough for shorter riders to get on or off the bike easily. It is also the lightest Royal Enfield bike.

Is the Hunter 350 a good bike for first time riders?

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 has been developed to target new riders. As a consequence, Royal Enfield has made sure it is the lightest bike from the brand, and also has an easy-to-reach seat. This makes it ideal for not only first time riders but also for women.

Is the Hunter 350 suitable for tall riders?

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is the most compact Royal Enfield bike but surprisingly, it is roomy enough for riders as tall as 6 feet. That said, it may feel a little uncomfortable if you’re more than 6’3” tall.

Is Hunter 350 good for daily use?

The Hunter 350 is a great bike for daily use, including city rides. It’s light (for a Royal Enfield bike), is compact, has a reasonably low seat height, and the small 17-inch wheels help in effortless handling in the city. The engine does not heat up as much either.

Is the Hunter 350 good for long rides?

The Hunter 350 is a good bike for long rides provided you cruise at around 90kmph and the roads are good. The rear suspension is stiff, and the 150mm ground clearance isn’t all that great, so it may not be as comfortable on broken roads. Also, you’ll have to pay extra attention to manage luggage space as the Hunter is more compact than any other Royal Enfield bike. As long as you’re a solo rider, you shouldn’t have any problem.

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 best features

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 base variant gets a single-channel ABS, along with a simple semi-digital console that houses a speedometer, fuel gauge and odometer readings. The premium alloy wheel variant gets a more detailed semi-digital instrument cluster complete with tripmeters (including a low-fuel tripmeter), gear position indicator, Eco indicator, clock, and fuel gauge. You can also get the Tripper Navigation pod, which is a separate display for turn-by-turn navigation that works via the Royal Enfield app.

What are the best accessories for the Hunter 350?

The Hunter 350 best accessory would be the sump guard, the silver one in particular. It costs Rs 3,250, and is made out of aluminium alloy, and should protect the underside of the engine while going over really large bumps. This is particularly useful considering the Hunter has only 150mm ground clearance. If you buy the Hunter 350 base variant, you’ll have to spend Rs 1,375 extra for a centre stand. This will ensure you can clean the chain or do other maintenance work easily, without needing a paddock stand. The Black Compact Engine Guard, priced at Rs 3,000 will also ensure better protection in case of a fall.

What is the service schedule of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350?

The Hunter 350 first free service is 500km, whereas regular service after that will be for every 5,000km.

What is the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 service cost?

Royal Enfield offers the first 4 services for free. These free services are valid only if they’re done on time, and are not missed. That said, while the labour cost is free, the consumables like engine oil will still be chargeable. Engine oil will have to be changed in the first service, and every 10,000km after that. Depending on the work done, service cost of Hunter 350 will range from around Rs 2,500 to 3,500, provided only if regular maintenance work is done and no part-replacement is involved. The Hunter 350 first service cost is around Rs 1,000.

Is Hunter 350 value for money?

The Hunter 350 is a great value for money bike if you’re looking to buy a retro bike or the cheapest Royal Enfield bike. It is light enough, and has enough performance for city commutes and the occasional weekend highway rides. If you’re looking to buy a touring bike, then the Royal Enfield Classic 350 or the Meteor 350 are better options in the 350cc segment.

What is the best alternative to Royal Enfield Hunter?

The closest Royal Enfield Hunter rival would be the TVS Ronin. While it is a retro-looking roadster, it is a lot more modern than the Hunter, with lots of features including smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. If you’re looking for a sportier neo-retro roadster with more performance, you may also go for the Jawa 42, although its overall quality could be better.

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Pros and Cons

Hunter 350 Advantages

Ideal for individuals seeking a Royal Enfield motorcycle that is lightweight and nimble, offering easy accessibility.

Hunter 350 Disadvantages

The relaxed nature of the engine doesn't complement with the motorcycle's contemporary chassis very well and the absence of features deprives the bike of any sense of modernity.

Hunter 350 Expert's Conclusion

The Hunter 350 injects a sense of youthfulness into the Royal Enfield family while remaining within an affordable price range. Despite the absence of certain features and a slight performance deficit, it offers a compelling entry point to the world of Royal Enfield, making the transition less daunting and more exhilarating.

Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Expert Review

The Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is the brand’s most affordable bike in India. After the Classic 350 and the Meteor 350, it was the third bike to join Royal Enfield’s J-series platform.

Design

The Hunter 350 has a retro roadster design language with the round headlight, mirrors , turn indicators and even the console. The rotary switches and teardrop-shaped fuel tank further accentuate the retro looks.

Engine, Mileage And Performance

The Hunter is powered by the 349cc engine that we’ve seen on the Classic 350 and the Meteor 350, making 20.2PS and 27Nm. It’s torquey and doesn’t mind being ridden at lower speeds in higher gears as well. The top end though is a bit lacking. In our tests, the bike returned a mileage of 40.19kmpl in the city and 35.98kmpl out on the highway.

Handling And Ride Quality

The Hunter is a fun handler, a lot better than all the other Royal Enfield bikes and a lot of it is down to its 17-inch wheels. Of course it doesn’t have the agility of a sporty streetfighter but for a retro roadster that has a 181kg kerb weight, it’s quite good.

The Hunter 350’s suspension is set on the firmer side. While it’s fine on slightly bad roads, it does send jolts to your back on really bad roads. If you’re a lighter rider, it could become quite uncomfortable as well.

Comfort

The riding posture on the Hunter 350 is a bit sporty, similar to a modern-day street bike. The handlebar is flat and wide but the footpegs are a bit rearset so you sit a bit canted forward. While that’s fun when you’re attacking the twisties or in the city, for longer rides it will feel a bit cramped for your lower body.

Features

The Hunter 350’s semi-digital console is the one we’ve seen on the Scram 411. It has an analogue speedometer along with an LCD inset for the gear position indicator, clock, fuel gauge, tripmeter and a lot more.

Should You Buy The Royal Enfield Hunter 350?

The Royal Enfield Hunter is a friendly beginner motorcycle. While in some areas like the engine, performance, fuel efficiency, and features, it may not feel modern, but considering its Rs 1,49,900 price tag (ex-showroom Delhi), it undercuts its rivals. This affordability compensates for its shortcomings, making the Hunter 350 an attractive choice and a promising addition to the Royal Enfield family.
