Meteor 350 Key Highlights
Price: The Meteor 350 is available in twelve attractive colour options, at varying price points. The Fireball in black, blue, matt green & red variant costs Rs 2,05,900. The Stellar in red, black & blue variant costs Rs 2,15,900. The Aurora variant in black, green and blue is priced at Rs 2,19,900, while the top-spec Supernova is available in blue and red variants and costs Rs 2,29,900 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
Design: The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 remains fairly similar to its predecessor (Thunderbird 350X) in terms of styling. This cruiser bike has an easy-to-reach handlebar and forward-set footpegs, ensuring a relaxed and comfortable riding posture. The round headlight assembly comes with a halogen bulb but features LED DRLs for a modern touch. The LED tail lamp and halogen turn indicators are circular as well. The bike features a flowing design with its teardrop-shaped fuel tank cohesively merging with its low-slung split seats. Rounding off its retro appeal are the round handlebar mirrors, which (along with the exhaust pipe) get a chrome finish on higher-end variants.
Features: The Meteor 350 features a semi-digital instrument cluster with tripper navigation (turn-by-turn assist) TFT pod as an optional accessory. On the main pod, the speed is shown by an analogue needle with a digital display showing the trip metre, odometer, gear position, fuel level, service indicator, eco prompt and a clock. The left switchgear is equipped with a USB port to charge your devices on the go. A dedicated hazard lamp switch is equipped on the right switchgear. The bike comes with dual-channel ABS for better safety.
Engine: Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is powered by a single-cylinder, 349cc, BS6.2-compliant, fuel-injected engine which churns out 20.2PS and 27Nm. The mill works in conjunction with a five-speed gearbox. The engine is based on the J-series platform which is counterbalanced for optimum refinement. It rests inside a twin downtube spine frame which is suspended on a 41mm front fork and six-step preload-adjustable twin tube emulsion shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is taken care of by a 300mm front disc with a twin-piston axial calliper and a 270mm rear disc with a single-piston floating calliper. The bike gets dual-channel ABS as standard. It rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with 100-section and 140-section tubeless tyres respectively. The bike weighs 191kg (kerb) and gets a 15-litre fuel tank. It has an accessible 765mm seat height and a generous 170mm ground clearance.
Rivals: The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 goes up against the likes of the Yezdi Roadster, Jawa 42 Bobber, Jawa Perak, Hero Mavrick 440, Harley Davidson X440 and even the more modern cruisers such as the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the Keeway V302C.
Variants: The four variants of Meteor 350 (Fireball, Stellar, Aurora & Supernova) come with some noticeable visual differences. The side panels get a gloss-black finish in the Fireball series with stickered Royal Enfield tank badging. The higher-end variants get colour-coded side panels with 3D badging on the tank and also feature chrome exhaust pipe, chrome mirrors and cushioned pillion backrest. The top-end Aurora and Supernova get a dual-tone paint scheme, machine-cut alloys and a windshield. All variants except for the base Fireball come with a cushioned pillion backrest.
