Toyota Vellfire 2019-2023

Toyota’s Vellfire luxury MPV is all set to get pricier, with the carmaker announcing a price hike with effect from June 2020. The reasoning behind it is an increase in exchange rate. Since its India launch on February 26 2020, it retailed at a price tag of Rs Rs 79.50 lakh (ex-showroom India).

The Vellfire MPV is a luxury 7-seater available in a single Executive Lounge variant. It is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine which makes 117PS of power and 198Nm of torque. It is helped by two motors each mounted at the front and rear axle which pitch in 142PS and 68PS of electric power, giving the Vellfire electronically governed all-wheel-drive.

The hybrid system charges itself up using brake regeneration and gives this behemoth a claimed fuel efficiency of 16.35kmpl.

Features includea 10-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 13-inch rear touchscreen, tri-zone climate control, dual sunroof, cruise control, a 17-speaker JBL sound system, and 16-colour ambient lighting in the roof. Safety equipment consists of 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, electric parking brake with auto-hold function as well as a tyre pressure monitor.

Toyota also told us at the launch event that it has already sold around 180 Vellfires in India.
