Price: The Yamaha FZS-FI V4 comes in two variants – standard and deluxe. The standard variant is available at Rs 1,29,200, and has two colour options including Matte Black and Dark Matte Blue, both with black alloy wheels and contrast pinstriping. The Yamaha FZS-FI V4 DLX variant is available in six colours including Racing Blue, Metallic Grey, Majesty Red and Matte Black along with the newly launched Ice Fluo-Vermillion and Cyber Green shades. All the colours are priced at Rs 1,29,700 (ex-showroom Delhi) and have contrast-coloured alloy wheels.

Features: Yamaha made crucial tweaks and added some features in the FZS-FI V4, including a revised fascia with a new LED headlamp and daytime running LEDs to its sides. The motorcycle also has an all-LED tail lamp, turn indicators, and a full-LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. This display unit has a speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip meters, fuel gauge, gear indicator and real-time mileage indicator. The riding aids offered as standard in the Yamaha FZS-FI V4 include a single-channel ABS and traction control (overkill for a 150cc bike, if you ask us).

Engine: Both variants of the Yamaha FZS-FI V4 are powered by the same tried-and-tested single-cylinder, air-cooled, 149cc engine, which has been retained from the FZS-FI V3. This engine is paired with a 5-speed transmission and claims a power of 12.4PS at 7250 rpm and a maximum torque of 13.3Nm at 5500 rpm.

Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: Apart from the engine, the Yamaha FZS-FI V4 also shares the chassis and the rest of the mechanical components with the previous-generation Yamaha FZS-FI V3. The new motorcycle has a telescopic fork, and a 7-step preload adjustable monoshock. The Yamaha FZS-FI V4 has 17-inch alloy wheels as standard, which come wrapped with a 100-section tyre at the front and a 140-section radial tyre at the rear. This premium commuter motorcycle from Yamaha has a 282mm disc brake at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear, with single-channel ABS. The Yamaha FZS-FI V4 continues to come with a 13-litre fuel tank. While the seat height of the Yamaha FZS-FI V4 is 790mm, the ground clearance of the motorcycle is 165mm. The 150cc Yamaha bike weighs 136kg kerb.

Rivals: The Yamaha FZS-FI V4 belongs to the premium end of the 150-160cc commuter motorcycle category, which has other options like Bajaj Pulsar N160, TVS Apache RTR 160, Hero Xtreme 160R, Honda SP160 and Suzuki Gixxer.

The Yamaha FZS-FI V4 is the fourth-generation version of the FZ, a premium 150cc commuter motorcycle range from Yamaha. Apart from the design and feature updates over the previous third-generation FZS-FI V3 (which is still on sale alongside it), the new Yamaha FZS-FI V4 retains the engine and the rest of the mechanical setup from the former.
