Aprilia Tuono 660

Price: The Aprilia Tuono 660 is available in two colours: Torque Red and Rush Grey. It is priced at Rs 17,44,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Features: Equipped with all LED lights, the Tuono features a TFT console. The Aprilia Tuono 660 also shares the comprehensive IMU-assisted (Inertial Measurement Unit) APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) electronics package with the Aprilia RS 660. The electronics package includes traction control, cornering ABS, wheelie control, cruise control, engine brake control, and 5 riding modes (Road and Track, 3 pre-set and 2 customisable modes).

Engine: The bike uses the same Euro 5-compliant 659cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine as the RS 660, but in the Tuono, this motor produces 95.1PS at 10500rpm and 67Nm at 8500rpm, as opposed to 101PS and 67Nm in the RS and with a shorter final drive. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch and a bidirectional quickshifter as standard. It has a 15-litre fuel tank.

Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The Tuono 660 gets an aluminium perimeter frame, it features a 41mm Kayaba inverted fork with 110mm of wheel travel and a monoshock with 130mm of wheel travel, both offering rebound and preload adjustment. For braking, the Tuono 660 is equipped with 320mm dual discs at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear, with Brembo brake callipers. It also comes with standard 3-level cornering ABS. The naked bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with 120-section tyres at the front and 180-section tyres at the rear. The basic chassis remains the same as the RS 660 but the Tuono gets a taller and wider single-piece handlebar, a smaller fairing than the RS, and a redesigned tail section with a more comfortable pillion seat. It has a seat height of 820mm and the same kerb weight of 183kg as the RS 660.

Rivals: While the Tuono 660 rivals the Triumph Trident 660, there are more powerful bikes in the sub-1000cc category such as the Kawasaki Z900, Street Triple 765, and Ducati Monster. Moreover, all these are cheaper than the Tuono 660.
