M 1000 RR Key Highlights
Price: BMW has priced the M 1000 RR standard variant at Rs 42 lakh and the ‘Competition’ variant at Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).
Design: The M 1000 RR sports the same design as that of the S 1000 RR. However, it gets aerodynamic carbon winglets and carbon wheels for weight reduction. It’s available in three colours: Light White, Racing Blue Metallic, and Racing Red.
Features: The BMW M 1000 RR gets a 6.5-inch TFT screen. The ‘Competition’ trim gets a GPS-based lap timer, passenger kit, rear seat cowl, carbon Pack (Carbon front and rear mudguard, carbon upper fairing, side panel, carbon tank cover, carbon chain guard, carbon sprocket cover), M BilletPack (Engine Protectors, brake lever folding, brake lever guard, foldable clutch lever, M rider footrest system), and an anti-theft alarm.
Engine: The M 1000 RR is based on the S 1000 RR but with some tweaks to the engine. It’s powered by a 999cc liquid-cooled in-line four-cylinder motor with variable camshaft control and makes a blistering 214PS of power at 14,500rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 11,000rpm. It’s mated to a 6-speed gearbox. BMW has equipped the M 1000 RR with seven riding modes: Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, Race Pro 1, Race Pro 2, and Race Pro 3. The last three are more suitable for track usage, allowing the rider to customise the throttle response, engine braking, traction control, and wheelie control. Moreover, the M 1000 RR also gets launch control, pit-lane limiter, hill-start control, shift pro assist, heated grips, and cruise control.
Rivals: The BMW M 1000 RR's rival list includes the 2021 Ducati Panigale V4 as well as the Honda CBR1000RR-R. As for its segment, the M 1000 RR also stacks up against the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and the Yamaha R1
Variants: The M 1000 RR is available in two variants: Standard and Competition. The standard variant costs Rs 42 lakh (ex-showroom) and the Competition variant is priced at Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom)
