M2 Key Highlights
Features: BMW has given the M2 a new flat-bottomed steering wheel with an option of Alcantara leather trim as an optional extra. Plus, there is the latest iteration of the BMW OS 8.5. Other key highlights include a 12.3-inch driver’s display, a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment, sport seats in Vernasca leather, multiple drive modes, cruise control, attentiveness, and reverse assistant.
Engine: Powering the updated M2 is the 3-litre six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that makes an additional power output of 20 PS. As a result, the M2 now generates 480 PS and 600 Nm. Mated to this engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission, and customers can also choose a 6-speed manual gearbox if they want to take matters into their own hands. However, if opted for a manual gearbox, the torque output goes down to 550 Nm. Thanks to the updated powertrain, the refreshed M2 is now quicker by 0.1 seconds and can reach 100kmph from a standstill in 4 seconds when paired with the automatic transmission and 4.2 seconds with the manual gearbox. It provides a top speed of 250 kmph, while optional M Driver’s package can increase that to 285 kmph.
Rivals: Currently, the BMW M2’s closest rival is the Mercedes-AMG A45 S, which is priced at Rs 93.65 lakh (ex-showroom).
