Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has just launched their Neo Sports Cafe, the CB300R roadster in India. Priced at Rs 2.41 lakh ex-showroom (pan-India), it goes up against the likes of the KTM 390 Duke and the BMW G 310 R. That makes it Rs 4,000 cheaper than the KTM and Rs 58,000 cheaper than the BMW. Bookings for the CB300R have already opened at 22 Wing World showrooms across India, with deliveries starting by March 2019.
Nestled inside a steel trellis frame is a 286cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which makes 31.4PS and 27.5Nm of torque. That is considerably lower in comparison to its rivals. However, Honda wants to pitch it to a more mature audience and thus, the performance numbers seem adequate for the task. Plus, with a kerb weight of just 147kg, Honda also claims that this has the highest torque-to-weight ratio in its class.
