In my life i had used 4,5 models of range rovers among the the most special i feel is sv autobiography. and ofcourse go for an extended wheel base. and technology packs.... If you are looking for an entry level range rover then you can go for evoque. Range rovers are the best in their segment so please dont over think. just buy one according to your budget. in case of range rovers there is no best pr worst. they are just more than special.

In Range Rover you can get Extreme offroad capability and Extreme luxury together. some models of other makes can be almost comparable to range rover, like amg G63, amgg63 maybach, toyota Land cruiser, etc but when it comes to ride thrill, performance onroad and offroad,etc range rover have an upper hand on all others
