KTM has struck gold with the new RC 390. It is more explosive, sharper and fit for the track. But the changes have made it more accommodating, forgiving and a better all-round tool. Only if it were priced a bit better.

- Capable track machine, now comfortable even for streets
- Gets a revised styling over its previous generation
- MotoGP livery is smashing in terms of looks
- Design is polarizing and may not be to everyone’s liking
- Gets a larger airbox and a revised airbox which has increased the torque output
- Pumps out more torque across the rev range
- Claimed 0-100kmph time is just 6.1 seconds which will blow your pants off
- Bike makes all the power over 4,000rpm, the low-end suffers
- Constant gear change is required to keep the motorcycle in the powerband
- Lighter than before, which allows the motorcycle to change its direction on a dime
- Brakes have a really good bite which allows the motorcycle to stop on its heels
- Ride quality is marginally better than the previous generations and soaks up undulations better
- The suspension is stiff which transfers hits over bad patches and may not be comfortable for everyone
- Gets a TFT display which gets all the electronics one could ever need such as rider aids, smartphone connectivity and a lot more
- The quickshifter doesn't feel as smooth as its rivals
- Misses out on a charging port and turn-by-turn navigation
- Gets raised clip-on handlebars that increase sense of control and isn't as committed as its previous generation
- Well cushioned and grippy alcantara seat which translates to better riding experience
- Committed riding posture which may not be liked by everyone and is uncomfortable for daily riding
- KTM has made some positive changes in the latest generation of the RC390
- The bike is more comfortable, offers better features, is lighter and has better performance
- A great sportbike for someone who is upgrading from a commuter class of motorcycles and feels quite exhilarating
