With the 159cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, four-valve engine, it is among the premium sports commuter. It picks up without any untowardly jitters even in the fourth gear at 25kmph. The five-speed gearbox doesn't feel very smooth shifting between first, neutral and second gears, as it is with other new TVS transmissions. The superior built of chassis makes the 147kg bike a breeze leaning into corners and would feel so even for a beginner. The brakes have a good bite and progression and the grippy TVS Remora tyres add to the experience. While the Apache performs well in traffic, the premium commuter would not feel out of place on a track either.

For daily rides its good, for long rides a Pillion rider may or may not be comfy. Fuel average varies few users are getting 30-35 kmpl, others are getting 35-45 kmpl. maintenance is low for such a bike. Fuel eco is also average.

It has a massive 16.8 ps power which is highest in it's segment. The initial power is quite quick. But top end sucks. Though it haunts around 135, the pull after 110kmph is low.
