• Q. My apache rtr 160 4v has completed 8k kms in exact 2 years. But there are side cracks on the tyre now. How is it possible? Do I need to get the tyres replaced or it is normal?

    It would be unfair to give a verdict as the tyre life would completely depend on the driving style, usage of the vehicle, proper tyre pressure and maintenance, etc. Moreover, if you are facing any such issue with the tyre, then we would suggest you get in touch with the nearest authorized service centre.

    It`s not normal. You may have been under inflating the tyres. Less air pressure makes the side walls flex beyond their acceptable limits and cracks will form. Correct inflation pressures for 120 kg. payload ( passenger and pillion ) are front 28 psi. and rear 32 psi. ( + or - 2 or 3 psi.
