Avarage maintainance is like 1500 to 2000. To me it is a bullet and it should vibrate, but your driving style like gradual accilaration and decilaration. Without straining the engine u will feel less vibrations. The sweet spot is cruzing at 80 90 where u feel like u r sitting on a sofa. It vibrates both below and above this speed. The vibrations go out of control when u go beyond 110. About the minalge u get 30kmpl +/ - 5. And if u are lucky u can squeeze 40kmpl out of it. In my case i have got 18kmpl and even 48kmpl. It depends upon the riding.

Average maintenance cost is approx 1500/- per service including oil change. But if you want to use it for daily commuting purpose, then you should factor in the fuel economy which is around 25-27 kmpl. Vibrations will be there even at low revs. I am facing major problems in the rear brakes as in my bike it's a drum set up but in the current models they are providing disc brakes in the rear wheel with ABS.

It vibrates quite a lot but improves with proper run-in. Carberry makes a crank shaft bearing plate that helps reduce vibration also. Search for "Carberry Vibration Reduction Plate - Hitchcocks Motorcycles" There are two crank bearings on the left and 1 on the right side as stock in the 500. The plate adds an additional bearing to the right side.

Here's the problem you see... I love telling tales, not tall ones but definitely long ones, and a couple of pages are hardly enough to narrate the entire mind blowing experience that was Royal Enfield's Tour of Rann of Kutch. Even narrowing down to a few memorable experiences is going to be a tough act, but here goes anyway.
